Design Leadership (2005–Present)

Crisp Thinking · Product Judgment · Usable Systems · Team Development

Great products begin with better questions and evolve through better judgment.

Toronto —For two decades, I’ve built and grown design teams, developed leaders, and created environments where designers do their best work, influence strategy, and make a meaningful impact.

Across consumer products, enterprise SaaS, fintech, publishing, and AI, I’ve led teams through complex product challenges, always focused on making complicated systems feel simple.

What I Do
01

Set the Vision

Turn ambiguous problems into a clear product direction, connecting customer needs, business goals, and a compelling long-term vision.

02

Simplify the Complex

Use information architecture, systems thinking, and strong product models to make complicated experiences feel clear, intuitive, and coherent.

03

Grow Designers

Mentor designers and managers through thoughtful coaching, direct feedback, and the space to develop their own judgment and leadership style.

04

Create Alignment

Build trusted partnerships across product, engineering, research, and leadership—facilitating difficult conversations, aligning competing priorities, and helping teams make confident decisions together.

05

Build to Learn

Use AI-assisted prototyping to turn ideas into tangible experiences—testing user value, sharpening product direction, and accelerating decisions before engineering begins.

06

Raise the Quality Bar

Strengthen the work through critique, storytelling, design principles, and better ways of working—helping teams move beyond the easy answer to the right one.

Perspectives

Technology continues to lower the cost of making.
The design process isn't becoming less important—
it's becoming more valuable. Research reveals truth. Exploration uncovers possibility. AI accelerates execution, but it doesn't replace informed intuition.
